The US President Barack Obama is to declare his plans on the deployment of about 250 US military men in Syria.

Thus, Washington's military presence in the country will be enlarged up to 300 people. Obama intends to strengthen the US positions in fight against the IS, as well as carry out training to storm the terrorists' stronghold in the city of Raqqa, the Wall Street Journal reports.

It is also stated that Obama will claim about it today while meeting with a number of European leaders in Hannover. According to a source in Obama's administration, the President has already approved such a step.

In fact, the aim of this deployment is to extend operation against the IS fighters, and preparation of the storm in particular.

It is planned that the US military will carry out some preparative work among the local Sunnis, encouraging them to join efforts with the Kurdish militia, who oppose fighters in the north-east of Syria.

The US authorities also hope to relieve tensions in relations with Ankara, which took strengthening of the Kurdish positions in the neighbouring Syria negatively, through the Sunni battalions organization in the Syrian Kurdistan.
