Twenty-six-year-old Kristin Holmes of Virginia, USA, was arrested for posting of a photo of herself with a handgun on Facebook, Pravda.Ru reports.
The young woman was charged with harassment by computer after a case of mistaken identity escalated into a Facebook comment feud. While commenting on Facebook, a woman had reportedly mistaken Holmes for someone else and made some comments Holmes found offensive. Kristin Holmes decided to post a photo of herself playfully pointing a gun at the camera. The photo caption said: "I'll post a few actual pics of me so you know the difference when you come find me."
As a result, Holmes was reported to her local police and was taken into custody. She is charged with a class 1 misdemeanor and faces up to one year in prison and/or a $2,600 fine.
The woman said that it was not a threat that she was trying to make. She only thought it was a funny picture, she said, before realizing it was intimidating. "I took it down. What happened to freedom of speech?" Kristin Holmes said.
