Itogi magazine closed following Segodnya newspaper

As PRAVDA.RU predicted earlier today, the Itogi weekly has suffered the same fate as Segodnya newspaper. The working day at the ofiicce of Itogi starts at 10:00 Moscow time. It took some time for the management to talk with the guards who refused to let the journalists in. Then, Sergei Parkhomenko, the editor-in-chief, managed to walk into the office. The Itogi’s editorial board is located in the same building as the Sem Dnei (Seven Days) publishing house. After some time, Mr. Parkhomenko walked out having a notice of his dismissal “due to staff cutback.” In his words, all the Itogi journalists will be sacked.
