The U.S. dollar was mixed against other major currencies in European trading Monday morning. Gold fell.

The euro traded at US$1.3169, up from US$1.3162 late Friday in New York.

120.62 Japanese yen, down from 121.04

1.2308 Swiss francs, down from 1.2332

1.1597 Canadian dollars, up from 1.1592

The British pound traded at US$1.9629, down from US$1.9637.

Gold traded in London at US$684.50 per troy ounce, down from US$685.33 late Friday.

In Zurich, the bid price was US$683.25, down from US$683.60.

Gold rose US$7.80 in Hong Kong to US$685.20 an ounce, reports AP.

Silver opened in London at US$14.60 per troy ounce, up from US$14.53.
