A conference "The History of Russian Culture. Old Belief of Moldova: the Past and the Present" opens on Saturday in Chisinau. Deputy Chair of the republican council of the old believers' movement Valentin Krylov told RIA Novosti that scientists and representatives of old believers' communes of Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, and Romania will take part in the conference. They will discuss the problems of preserving the cultural and spiritual heritage of the old believers.
As part of the meeting there'll take place a presentation of the Chisinau-published book "Antiquity Forever Alive" that deals with the history of the appearance of old believers on Moldovan soil and their original way of life; exhibitions of old believers' icons and craftsmen's works will be opened as well.
