How Russia is meddling with the dark side of the West

By Nicolas Bonnal

The Russia of Vladimir Putin is the last fortress that resists the global entropy and the creation of homogenized and miniaturized world controlled by a handful of bankers, engineers and entertainers. For that reason Putin will be fought until the End.

One of the best movies ever made about the foolishness of western media mind-control was Sydney Lumet's Network which won an Oscar in 1976, during the era of "collectivist seventies". A depressive and passionate anchorman becomes a leader of opinion and wakes up a collective rage against the incompetent American elite (well, this elite is competent, but only for its own purpose and interests!). Nowadays we know that the global media, possessed by a handful of businessmen close to the power (in France the situation is even more caricatured than in the US) continually celebrate the system, the elite, the global entropy and the incoming war against Russia or China. Today the rebellion is forbidden (you even risk death penalty, the Ecuadorian embassy or Guantanamo). A rebellious mind is labelled racist, terrorist, nationalist, conspiracy theorist, supporter of Putin! Then you need a self-help therapy session in order to conform to the system. For the global promise, as said French rebel Philip Muray (of Scottish decent) has become a global threat. You will be a 'democrat' or you will be punished. This is the new 'Crimea and punishment' agenda!

In Network the anchorman of course gets a huge audience. Inflation, Vietnam, Watergate, unemployment: the heirs of John Wayne were rather rebel at this time (as we know they have been ethnically replaced since). He is then received by his boss, a financier who does not believe in rebellion but rather in submission. The character is beautifully played by Ned Beatty and the big boss tries to explain our rebel the conditions of the New World Order, global corporate democracy and the iced happiness of multinationals as we used to say in our old rebel France.

Let us quote the splendid text written by Paddy Chayefsky, a veteran of the golden age of television. Evocating in his script three times Nuremberg and the Valhalla (guess why!), the businessman starts to argue:

You have meddled with the primal forces of nature, Mr. Beale, and I won't have it, is that clear?!

Putin too has defied the primal forces of nature that is of democratic business. Yet our orator keeps talking with an inspiring mood and a will of power and intimidation:

You are an old man who thinks in terms of nations and peoples. There are no nations! There are no peoples! There are no Russians. There are no Arabs! There are no third worlds! There is no West!

There is nothing but money. The world is a cipher (the name of the traitor in Matrix!)

Capitalism has exterminated nations, religions, cultures, races, past, present, future and so on. The earth is just a global commercial centre. And the light of the creation is doomed by the dark side of the West: the showdown of greenbacks.

There is only one holistic system of systems, one vast and immane, interwoven, interacting, multi-variate, multi-national dominion of dollars! Petrodollars, electro-dollars, multi-dollars, Reich marks, rubles, pounds and shekels!

The good is that this text is almost humoristic like a stupid speech made by Obama, Draghi or Cameron on Iran, Syria, global growth and global democracy. Our orator mixes the metaphors:

It is the international system of currency that determines the totality of life on this planet! That is the natural order of things today! That is the atomic, subatomic and galactic structure of things today! And you have meddled with the primal forces of nature, and you will atone.

Finally he tells the truth. There is no America. There is no democracy. Finally the fat speechmaker tells the truth. Just believe the stock exchange and the Illuminati messages of global entertainment media. Be eyes wide shut and (would say infamous agitator Mrs Nuland) f*** the rest!

You get up on your little twenty- one inch screen, and howl about America and democracy. There is no America. There is no democracy. There is only IBM and ITT and A T and T and Dupont, Dow, Union Carbide and Exxon. Those are the nations of the world today. The world is a college of corporations, inexorably determined by the immutable by-laws of business. The world is a business, Mr. Beale!

Yes the world is a business, peace is a business, The EU is a business,  open frontiers are a business and the destruction of any nation and ecosystem are a business too. Of course ecology and programmed reduction of population are a business too.

Then the orator concludes in an in a Nietzsche (the theory of the 'last man') or Tocqueville-inspired tonality:

It has been since man crawled out of the slime, and our children, Mr. Beale, will live to see that perfect world in which there is no war and famine, oppression and brutality -- one vast and ecumenical holding company, for whom all men will work to serve a common profit, in which all men will hold a share of stock, all necessities provided, all anxieties tranquilized, all boredom amused.

That would announce a world of prosperous peace and depressed tranquillity, wouldn't it?

Yes but we know this is a lie. Since forty years, we assisted a fall of the middle class everywhere, the increase of the global debt, a fall of safety, education, hygiene and culture. But the system has never been so hard or efficient. We had many wars and liquidation of populations. Need a clown? Vote Obama. Need amusement? Buy an Apple. And in Paris or London forget on a black small screen the ten or twenty squared meters you live in.

Despite the brilliancy of this speech, the logic of the movie is simply not good: Beal submits to his master, he teaches submission and resignation, his audience fades away and finally the Network has him assassinated - using not a Moslem terrorist but a long haired hippie! Hollywood always knew how to spoil a good idea.

Yet this message permits us to understand what is going on in Crimea and elsewhere. There are the business magi and the humanitarian warmongers who manipulate time, space, images and slogans; and there is Russia and Putin who do not sell their soul and homeland and then "meddle with the primal forces of nature!"
