Police find body of missing student in pool

The body of a college student who had been missing since last fall was found in a country club swimming pool when a worker removed the cover to get it ready for summer.

Nineteen-year-old Paul Shuman-Moore had killed himself, binding his own legs and hands with duct tape. The official cause of death was listed as drowning.

Shuman-Moore was last seen alive on Sept. 25. His disappearance prompted an extensive search of the area by police and volunteers.

"For the past six months, we have hoped and prayed that our dear son Paul was alive," his parents, Steve Moore and Betsy Shuman-Moore, said in a statement. "Now that he has been found, we are devastated."
