"These steps extend to the corresponding categories of people from the members of the European Union and the United States, and also other countries that officially joined in the restrictive measures that the EU and the US introduced in relation to Belarus," ministry spokesman Andrei Popov said. "They are based on the principle of symmetry."
He said that the list included "the most odious" politicians and others from Western countries, the AP reports.
The EU and US introduced visa bans on about 30 senior Belarusian officials after President Alexander Lukashenko won a third term in March 19 elections deemed fraudulent by Western governments.
