The Russian sailing frigate Nadezhda which is making a round-the-world voyage arrived in the capital of Brazil, Brasilia.
As the press service of Vladivostok's Admiral Nevelskoi Maritime State University reported, the reserves of water and fuel will be replenished in Brazil.
Besides that, presentation of a number of Russia's regions and major companies will take place aboard the frigate.
On November 15 the sailing vessel will leave Brasilia and head for Stanley port on the Falkland Islands.
The Nadezhda sailing ship left Vladivostok on a round-the-world voyage on January 25, 2003. Its cruise is devoted to the bicentenary of the first Russian round-the-world voyage under the guidance of Ivan Kruzenshtern and Yuri Lisyansky. The current route is maximally approximated to the route of the historic voyage.
A Russian scientific expedition for studying environmental problems and the processes of the World Ocean is staying on board the sailing ship together the crew and the cadets.
The Nadezhda frigate must return to the port of registry, Vladivostok, in March 2004.
