Chairman of the Russian Federation's Federation Council Sergei Mironov arrived in the USA on a working visit.
Within the New York part of his trip Sergei Mironov will meet with U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan, governor of New York State George Pataki, former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, and representatives of the business community and organizations of compatriots. Mironov will also participate in a meeting of Transatlantic Partners Against AIDS (TPAA).
In Washington the head of the Russian parliament's upper chamber will sign a memorandum on cooperation between the Federation Council and the Senate of the U.S. Congress, and hold talks with leader of the Senate majority Bill Frist and the leaders of both factions of the Senate.
Besides that, Mironov will open the photo exhibition Reflection, organized by The Moscow Times newspaper and RIA Novosti, in the Library of the U.S. Congress.
