Information security is a top priority today, Russian Minister for Communications and Information Technologies Leonid Reiman said opening the 4th meeting of the CIS Coordination Council for Information Technologies in Chisinau on Saturday.
Representatives of all the CIS countries except Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan discussed in the Moldovan capital on Saturday the security of information resources, systems and networks and the struggle against illegal use of information technologies and the implementation of the interstate program on the formation of a network of information-marketing centers.
The Coordination Council also considered generalized remarks and proposals of the CIS countries on the drafts of final documents of the world summit on information society, the declaration of principles and plan of actions.
According to First Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council Vladislav Sherstyuk, "these documents outline the main principles and trends of cooperation in order to transfer the civilization into the post-industrial stage of development for the long-term prospect."
