The negotiations between RF First Deputy Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Trubnikov and representatives of the leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Saturday will focus on the Iraqi problem, Afghanistan, the fight against terrorism and atomic energy.
During an interview with a RIA Novosti correspondent, Mr. Trubnikov stated: "In the context of the Russian-Iranian consultations, we will discuss the development of the Iranian nuclear power industry, issues of the additional protocol to the Non-Proliferation Treaty and the agreement between Iran and Russia on the return of spent nuclear fuel supplied for Bushehr nuclear power station." "The agenda of the talks will certainly include regional problems, as well, including Afghanistan - the issue that concerns both Russia and Iran very much, Iraq and the fight against global terrorism in the light of the situation in Afghanistan and in general," the high-ranking Russian diplomat said.
