200 Russian companies are taking part in the annual international trade and industrial fair in Baghdad which opened on Thursday. This was disclosed by Fawzi Daher, director of the association of Iraqi exhibitions. According to him, despite the international economic sanctions remaining in force, this year a greater number of countries are taking part in the fair as compared to last year. Vice-President of Iraq Taha Yasin Ramadan said the other day that Russia was firmly determined to develop cooperation with Iraq proceeding from the strategic nature of relations between the two states. In 2001 the trade-industrial exchange between Russia and Iraq is expected to amount to $1.25 billion.
