Quite a few trucks have lined up on Finnish territory near the Nuijamaa-Brusnichnoye check-point, as they wait to cross the Finnish-Russian border. In fact, that line is 15 km long. Additional trucks started entering Russia via the Brusnichnoye check-point since November 1. Border guards explain this by the fact that the relevant customs-clearance process has changed; moreover, additional consignments now have to be checked, no matter what. Besides, one should keep in mind that the number of foreign cars imported into Russia usually tends to increase late each year. Meanwhile Russian customs officers are doing their best in order to wave everyone through and to eliminate this traffic jam.
