Bundeswehr Troops To Be Deployed In Uzbekistan

Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) units will be deployed in Uzbekistan if they participate in the US anti-terror operation. This information was disclosed on Thursday by the German Bild newspaper with a reference to a source in the Bundeswehr command. The source also reported about a relevant agreement between "the German and US staffs." This information refers to German NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical warfare) units equipped with the Fuchs-class reconnaissance vehicles designed for rapid detection of nuclear, chemical and biological contaminating agents. Germany is also expected to provide its medical units and 100 elite commandos from the Komando Spezialkrafte unit.
