Russian President Vladimir Putin has backed the initiative of Abdallah II, the King of Jordan, to establish a bilateral intergovernmental commission. Opening the Russian-Jordanian negotiations in the extended format in the Kremlin, the Russian President called the establishment of such a commission "the first step" to be taken in the administrative sphere. The Russian leader added that as a result of the last meeting between the Jordanian King and himself which took place this August, a positive impetus was given to both business circles and the governments of the two states. According to him, Russia and Jordan have always been tired by "bonds of friendship and creative cooperation." Addressing the King of Jordan, Vladimir Putin congratulated the Muslim world on the holiday of Ramadan wishing all Muslims "happiness, peace and prosperity."
