On Monday Yuri Yarov, chairman of the CIS Executive committee and its Executive Secretary reported that on invitation of Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan, informal meeting of heads of CIS states would be held on 1 March, 2002 in Alma Ata. He described informal meetings of heads of CIS states as extremely important to determine future perspectives. According to Yarov, such summit meetings discuss events which are taking place in the world and which affect interests of CIS and of each Commonwealth member state.
