Moscow is hopeful that the decision of Thailand to abolish the simplified tourist visa-issuing procedure will not negatively affect the development of bilateral relations including tourism. According to the information provided on Tuesday in the department of information and press of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the simplified procedure of obtaining entry tourist visas directly in Thai airports for citizens of 77 countries including Russia was previously in force. According to the available information, the new procedure might be introduced not earlier than in March 2002.
