On Thursday, San Mateo (Calif., US) will host the second session of the round table Russia-US on information technologies, IT, organised by the two countries' businessmen under the aegis of the Russian Press Ministry and the US Department of Commerce.
The forum is there to promote Russian IT companies and Russia's updated technologies to the US market, as well as to invigorate the activities of major US companies in Russia. The forum is to yield recommendations for state-owned and private organisations in expanding co-operation in the two countries' IT sector.
The work of the round table has received approval of the US and Russian presidents, reflected in their joint statement issued during George Bush's visit to Russia last May.
Participating in the session will be Minister of Communications and Informatisation Leonid Reiman, US Secretary of Commerce Donald Evans, academician secretary of the information science department of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yevgeny Velikhov and heads of the leading Russian and US IT companies.
