The search brigades operating in the Karmadon gorge have not reached the tunnel's entrance, the North Ossetian Emergencies Ministry operational department reported.
According to the department, the Kolka avalanche drastically changed the gorge's landscape, hampering the location of the tunnel covered by 120-metre-thick ice.
For a long time, the rescuers had to search for the tunnel manually, passing 1.5 metres a day. But now, hard equipment will be used. It is dangerous, but there is no other solution, according to the Emergencies Ministry.
The avalanche in North Ossetia's Karmadon gorge killed 19 people, while 106 people, including Sergei Bodrov's film team, are reported missing.
