The plenipotentiary representative of the Russian president in the Urals Federal District Pyotr Latyshev and the other members of the Russian delegation were not hurt when the blasts went off on August 7th in Colombia, the regional information centre reported on Thursday.
Yesterday in Bogota, Colombia's capital, three explosions rocked the area around the parliament building as newly-elected Alvaro Uribe was swearing in as president.
According to reports received from Bogota, 13 people were killed and 20 wounded.
Moreover, the presidential palace was attacked at a distance of only 800 metres. Police believe that the terror attacks were carried out by leftist rebels who have attempted to kill Uribe more than once this year.
The terror attacks were perpetrated despite the unprecedented security measures that were taken by the Colombian authorities to protect the ceremony.
At the present moment Latyshev is staying in Colombia.
Pyotr Latyshev, the plenipotentiary representative of the Russian president, was taking part in the inauguration of the Colombian president.
