Plague of rats infests Britain

Britain is infested by 60 million rats, more than one for each inhabitant. Experts studying the phenomenon warn that they are getting larger and that their behaviour is changing. They are becoming more aggressive and are starting to invade areas frequented by humans.

The reason for the dramatic increase in the number of these rodents is the fact that 20% of Britain’s streets are littered with food debris. Some urban areas are threatened with being overrun by rats.

The situation is becoming so serious that a public awareness campaign through films and posters has been launched.

Vermin extermination squads are out on the streets looking for nests of rats to poison and people are being told not to leave fast food remnants on the streets.
