First International specialised exhibition "Snack-Expo-2002" is being conducted in the cultural-exhibition centre Sokolniki in Moscow from May 29th till June 2nd. Snacks, sweets, ready-to-cook foods, tea, coffee, non-alcoholic and low-rate alcoholic beverages and fast food are being exhibited.
Last year total turnover of the Russian market in this sphere estimated at $500mln.
The participants in the exhibition are Russian companies "Russkiy Produkt" /Russian Product/, "Russkaya Trapeza" /Russian Meal/, "Soyuzmolprodukt" /Dairy Products/, "Kupava-Service", "Liga Torgovli" /Trade League/. Foreign products and cooking technologies are represented by "Heat and Control" (Austria), PPM (Sweden), MST-Amstel (Holland). Thematic seminars, round tables and presentations of trade marks, which will help the participants and manufacturers to orient better in the market processes, are included in the program of the exhibition.
"Snack-Expo-2002" is held within the framework of the All-Russian congress "Russian trade and food industry on the brink of organisational and technological changes," which was organised by the Russian Ministry of Trade and Economic Development. At the same time other thematic exhibitions are being held in Moscow, for instance "Magazino-Stroeniye" /equipment for trade factories and tertiary industries/ and "YevroKholod" /industrial refrigerator equipment/.
