Russian law-enforcement bodies are checking the list of 27 organisations and individuals allegedly involved in funding international terror organisations. The list has been submitted by the US administration. Russian Vice-Premier and Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said as much after his negotiations with American counterpart Paul O'Neill. Kudrin reported that so far no track of such funds had been found in Russia. The Russian Vice-Premier also said that in the context of a broader investigation, Russian law-enforcement bodies have obtained information concerning involvement of certain accounts and organizations in funding terrorists in Chechnya and some other countries. At the present time, Russian law-enforcement bodies are acting in compliance with the Russian legislation. At the same time, Kudrin stressed that there existed a bilateral agreement between the United States and Russia on legal assistance. And this, the Russian Minister stated, provides Russia with legal basis within the Russian legislation to render support to the United States.
