After the court's final ruling on the YUKOS case, the Russian stock market will fully recover and go up, Russian Finance Minister Alexey Kudrin said in an interview with the Kommersant newspaper. "One individual case cannot cancel out all positive developments, both economic and social, everything that has been done and is yet to be done for developing the market in our country", the official pointed out. He emphasized that both tax reforms and currency liberalization had been completed, and it was up to the forthcoming elections to ensure political stability. According to Kudrin, when deciding on whether to freeze YUKOS stocks the court was guided by law, and not economic expediency. Moreover, the verdict can be appealed, the minister added.
Commenting on presidential administration head Alexander Voloshin's recent resignation, Kudrin said that it marked the end of the Yeltsin era.
