Both Russian and British First Ladies visited the Grand Kremlin Palace on Saturday. As they were seeing this historical palace built in the mid-19th century and inaccessible for ordinary people, Lyudmila Putin was a guide for Cherie Blair.
After the excursion the First Ladies had a conversation over a cup of tea. They shared their impressions from the school library festival, which took place in Moscow this week, and discussed issues concerning book publishing and development of libraries.
Lyudmila Putin assured her British guest that such festivals would be held in the future as well. Cherie Blair said that a great number of British writers and publishers were interested to get to the Russian market. The First Ladies also touched upon the issues of bringing up and educating children and teenagers.
