The Afghan war: the third force

Afghanistan ex PM Gulbuddin Khekmatiar is planning to establish a coalition to struggle both with Taleban fighters and the Northern Alliance. He already called for a few famous Afghan politicians to join the coalition. Khekmatiar coalition is to assert the interests of the people, whereas Taleban and the Northern Alliance carry on never-ending struggle only due to the backing of foreign states. This way they become somebody else’s pawns, Khekmatiar claims. But it is still unclear in what way Khekmatiar is going to recruit the Afghan followers to his coalition, which is in the Pakistan territory. It is also unclear how will he manage to avoid the influence of the foreign state which maintains Taleban.
