Some part of the Chechen Republic population continues to support the rebel formations, presidential spokesman for Chechnya Sergey Yastrzhembsky said on Friday. It concerns the mountaineous part of Chechnya first of all, he said. “At the same time, if we talk about Chechnya’s flatlands, the support of federal troops is much higher there,” he added, Itar-Tass reports. “There is a considerable percentage of people in Chechnya who suffer from a terrible psychological tiredness and only want further calmness, peace, work, warmth and nothing else,” Yastrzhembsky said.
