Catastrophe on Moscow railway

An accident took place yesterday on Moscow railway. At 22.30, at a distance of 1 km from Yroslavsky Terminus, Moscow Khabarovsk passenger train collided with shunting electric locomotive. In the collision, the locomotive lost a wheel pair. As a result of the catastrophe, 17 to 40 people were injured, among them two children. It cannot be excluded that the number of victims who address to doctors will grow. Engineer, his assistant and several workers who were in the locomotive have the most serious injuries. After the catastrophe, the traffic on the railway section was stopped. At the moment, the trains move according to schedule. Just after the accident, in Yaroslavsky Terminus, a meal was organized for passengers who had suffered in the accident. Now, on the spot, ambulance brigades and workers of Centre of Emergency Medical Assistance keep vigil. Additional medical brigades were called. A headquarter on catastrophe liquidation was organized. A maintenance team liquidates the consequences of the accident. According to the reports, a commission of Russian Communications Ministry has started its investigation of the collision’s reasons, headed by deputy minister Vadim Morozov and Moscow railway’s chief, Vladimir Starostenko.
