The Russian government has agreed to a proposal by the International Monetary Fund /IMF/ to review the state of the Russian banking system, Russia's Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin told journalists on Thursday. In an interview with journalists after talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and IMF managing director Horst Koehler, the minister said that under this program leading specialists would come to Russia to analyze the Russian banking system and draw recommendations on improving its transparency.
