Andrey Lubensky: Tu-154 crash investigatory experiment to take place today

The investigatory experiment will take place in the Crimea on Thursday. The experiment will be held within the framework of the criminal case pertaining to the crash of the Russian Tu-154 passenger airliner, which fell into the Black Sea being after hit by a Ukrainian missile. As the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Yevgeny Marchuk, said, the experiment will exactly reconstruct the situation that led up to the catastrophe. A Tu-154, the airliner, will take part in the undertaking together with anti-missile defense complexes and a test target. The investigators of Ukraine’s Office of the Prosecutor General and the specialists of the inter-state committee will also take part in the experiment. Vladimir Rushaylo, Russia’s Security Council Secretary, is also expected to partake.

As the spokesmen for the Ukrainian military prosecutor office said before, there will have to be a large number of technical, ballistic, and criminal expertise performed during the course of the investigation. In the words from Yevgeny Marchuk, Ukraine still does not know the reasons why a missile hit the passenger jet instead of the original target.
