Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned against defying the decisions of the Constitutional Court and the supreme bodies as a whole. Meeting representatives of foreign constitutional courts in the Kremlin, the Russian head of state said Russia was a young democracy with inaccomplished statehood. With this in mind, said the president, we should proceed consistently and steadily, assume a principled position, but never ever should we defy the decisions of the Constitutional Court and other supreme bodies. We should act carefully and understand all the political consequences of what we are doing, remarked Vladimir Putin. He also stressed the need for coordinated activities of the Constitutional Court and the Parliament. The president added that he pinned high hopes on fruitful collaboration between the Russian Parliament and the Constitutional Court. The Russian leader also pointed out that the Constitutional Court still had to deal with illegitimate decisions of not so much the Federal Parliament but also the legislative bodies of the Russian Federation members.
