Duma adopts energy bills on third reading

Today, the Russian State Duma has adopted the packet of bills on the electrical energy industry on the third reading. The packet includes six bills.

The first bill is on the electrical energy industry. It is the basic document, which sets legal basis for economic relations in the industry, and defines major rights and liabilities of electrical energy market makers and consumers. The second bill describes peculiarities of the functioning of the electrical energy industry during the transitional period. It expands the authority of the Russian government regarding regulating the industry during the transitional period. The Duma has also adopted amendments to the law on state regulation of electrical energy tariffs, and to the Russian Civil Code. Another bill contains amendments to the bill on natural monopolies. The last bill, adopted by Duma deputies today, is the bill in energy saving.
