The volume of payments for products and services of the Russian natural gas giant Gazprom, including gas transportation services, increased 24.4 percent last year compared to 2001 and totaled almost 1.242 trillion rubles (about $39bn), the State Statistics Committee reported. The share of payments by money transfer reached 86 percent.
The national energy grid RAO UES of Russia also saw a 28.7-percent increase in payments it collected for its work and services to 658.55bn rubles (about $20.85bn) in 2002 compared to 2001. The share of payments by money transfer went up by 36.3 percent to 585.562bn rubles (about $18.54bn).
