The Russian state company Rosoboronexport has supported the idea of holding the international arms exhibition Russian Expo Arms 2004 at a military testing ground near Nizhni Tagil, the Sverdlovsk region. Sverdlovsk region governor Eduard Rossel has received a corresponding letter signed by Rosoboronexport General Director Andrey Belyaninov, the regional union of defense industry enterprises told RBC.
The union stressed that this support was of a principled importance for the region, because last year the Russian government actively discussed the question of moving the exhibition from Nizhni Tagil to the town of Krasnoarmeysk in the Moscow region.
