Rosneft to appeal against Slavneft sale

The Rosneft oil company is going to appeal against the results of the auction for the sale of the state stake in the Slavneft Oil and Gas Company in court, Rosneft's President Sergey Bogdanchikov stated at a press conference in Moscow today.

According to him, the company will be "systematically working until it satisfies all its interests in this regard in full". Bogdanchikov pointed out that the company had participated in the auction for selling the 75-percent stake in Slavneft because in was interested in Slavneft's assets in East Siberia, current level of oil production and oil-processing assets. If Slavneft decides to sell some of its refineries, Rosneft will discuss variants of buying them "in the context of the general situation regarding Slavneft", he said.
