The second international Siberian airspace show started its work in Krasnoyarsk.
The solemn ceremony of its opening took place on Saturday at the local Ivan Yarygin Sports Palace, where specimens of products by a few dozens of Russian and foreign firms and companies are exhibited. Plenipotentiary representative of the Russian president in the Siberian federal district Leonid Drachevsky, the Russian Transport Ministry and Aerospace Agency leaders, and Krasnoyarsk territory governor Alexander Khloponin greeted the show's participants and guests.
Despite a 30 below zero centigrade frost, Krasnoyarsk airport is to host demo flights by new models of airships from Kharkov, Omsk, Ulan-Ude and other Russian and foreign cities.
A scientific practical conference also opened as part of the show. Its participants will discuss urgent problems of air navigation, communication and the use of space technologies. The air show is to end on December 9.
