Woodside Petroleum Got No Confirmation In China LNG

Woodside Petroleum Ltd said it has not received formal notification that the North West shelf partners have been successful in their bid for a 25 year LNG contract in China.

Woodside spokesman Rob Millhouse told after Chinese state media reported the win that a formal announcement would be made once it was confirmed.

"We have got what you are telling us ... We are waiting for official confirmation," he said.

Woodside is the designated operator of the North West Shelf venture and one sixth equal equity participant with BHP Billiton Petroleum, BP Developments Australia Pty Ltd, Chevron Australia Pty Ltd, Japan Australia LNG (MIMI) Pty Ltd, and Shell Development (Australia) Pty Ltd.
