Despite its damages, the standart sailing frigate will take part in water festival on the Neva

The damages, which the Standart sailing frigate received as a result of the clash with a sightseeing ship, will not prevent the frigate from taking part in the water events on the Neva, the river on which St Petersburg is situated.

As RIA Novosti was told by the head of the Marine Rescue and Coordination Centre, Leonid Belov, the sightseeing ship, Moscow-104, clashed with the frigate, which stood at the University embankment, on Monday evening.

The specialists have established that the frigate has not been seriously damaged. Late at night, the sailer passed under the Dvortsovy Bridge and on Tuesday it occupied its usual place in the area of the Peter and Paul Fortress.

The Standart frigate, which was built anew according to the drafts of the Peter the Great time, will take part in the anniversary events on the Neva dedicated to Petersburg's jubilee. It is supposed that the frigate will be a flagship in the parade of sailers which will take place in the context of the Neva Fiery on Tuesday evening.
