"A car bomb discovered last night in Moscow's central Bronnaya Street had not been meant for committing an act of terrorism against the close-by synagogue," reported Valery Gribakin, a spokesman for the Moscow police board. "The automobile belongs to the 48-year-old Director General of Calibre Ltd. who has been receiving telephone threat calls over the past year, he added. It wouldn't be rightful to talk about this night's prevention of an act of terrorism against the synagogue, he stressed.
It has been specified that two plastic bags were discovered by the Director General whose automobile was parked close to the synagogue. In expert view, the enclosed explosive mix of aluminium powder, nitre, pyridil as well as fuses presented little danger because of lack of igniting devices-detonators.
As investigation is underway, the owner of the bags has not yet been identified.
