A federal combat helicopter Mi-8 crashed in Chechnya on Thursday. According to the aviation detachment of the federal forces in Chechnya, the incident took place in the mountain area late at night. When paratroopers aboard three helicopters were landing, one of the helicopters got absorbed by heavy air flows caused by the rotor blades of the other helicopters. It lost control and fell on one side touching the ground. The crew of the helicopter was not injured, reported the aviation detachment. By now, the helicopter has been taken to a military aerodrome in Khankala. On Friday a government commission will open investigation.
