Saudi Arabia has urged media not to call Osama bin Laden a "Saudi millionaire or a Saudi terrorist". A press release from the embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Russia, received by RIA Novosti, says that the embassy "declares that this dissident was stripped of Saudi citizenship many years ago by government decision for activities incompatible with the principles of the policy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia". "Neither the people nor the government of Saudi Arabia give him financial or any other support," the diplomatic mission said. As is indicated by the embassy, bin Laden conducts no financial business on the territory of Saudi Arabia. The fact that media make frequent mention of Saudi Arabia in connection with the name of Osama bin Laden "have a negative impact on the reputation of the country, the Saudi people, Arabs and Muslims in general, which may expose Arab and Islamic communities abroad to dangers and oppression", the Saudi embassy indicated.
