A large amount of arms and ammo has been discovered in Chechnya over the past 24 hours. On the outskirts of the city Gudermes in one of the destroyed houses, the police discovered an arms cache containing a grenade, a TNT pot, 11 artillery shells and several hundred bullets for automatic guns of the 5,45mm-calibre.
In one of the abandoned houses in Kayakentskaya Street of Grozny's Oktyabrsky district, the police found an arms cache containing an anti-tank grenade projector, 3 cartridges for an anti-tank grenade projector, 10 cartridges for a rifle grenade projector and a self-made explosive device.
In a forest nearby the Betti-Mokh village, the police found an arms cache containing 2 shells of the 122-mm calibre, 4 mines and a self-made explosive device.
Operative measures concerning the identification and arrest of those having relation to the arms caches are being taken.
Three assault rifles, 2 grenade projectors, 5 hunting rifles, over a thousand bullets for automatic weapons of various calibres, 17 hand grenades, 19 cartridges for a grenade projector, 40 artillery shells, 4 mines, 5 self-made explosive devices, 2 fuses and 200 grams of TNT have been confiscated in Chechnya over the past 24 hours.
Within the same period of time, the servicemen of the Interior Affairs Department inspected 11,876 cars, checked 18,000 passports and dealt with 386 administrative crimes.
Eight illegal mini oil-refineries have been discovered and eliminated over the past 24 hours.
