Ukrainian troops will unilaterally cease fire in the east of the country in order to allow members of illegal armed groups to disarm, and refugees leave the country, said President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
"The plan (the president's peace plan) begins with my order about unilateral ceasefire. Immediately after this, we need to receive support for the peace plan of the president from all sides of the conflict in the Donbas, within a very short period of time," said Poroshenko on Wednesday in Kiev.
According to him, the time of the cease-fire will be very short, during which militiamen should disarm.
It is worthy of note that this is not the first statement on cease fire that comes from Kiev. Nevertheless, the Ukrainian authorities have not organized even humanitarian corridors for refugees. Instead, Ukraine takes efforts to strengthen the border with Russia.
