The parents demand the authorities should deliver the bodies of their killed sons to them. The parents of the four killed boys have already started living in the field near the sewage well. The parents of the fifth killed child will join them tomorrow. The parents have brought along carnations and candles. The poster pinned to one of the tents says: “Stop taunting us. Expose expertise results!”
The adults have built a bench near the tent to sit on. They have warm clothes, flu medicines and depressants with them, the Siberian News Agency reports.
The parents of the killed schoolchildren said that they were last informed about the investigation in July of the current year. To make matters worse, the “new” information contained nothing new. Police officers told the grieving parents that the results of the expertise had been sent to Novosibirsk. The parents believe that the regional law-enforcement authorities are simply temporizing.
Official spokesmen for the Office of the Public Prosecutor in Krasnoyarsk said that they were aware of the situation, but added they were not ready to comment on the matter yet.
Five schoolboys between ten and twelve years of age disappeared from the Leninsky district of the city of Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, in April of 2005. Five charred bodies were found in a sewage well three weeks later. The well is located not very far from the apartment buildings where the children lived. Experts analyzed the bones, pieces of clothes and belongings found in the well and concluded that the remains belonged to the five missing boys. A whole series of special identification procedures was prescribed later to confirm the preliminary expert conclusion. Nevertheless, specialists failed to determine the cause of death. The body of one of the killed boys, Safar Aliyev, still remains unidentified: most likely the child was too close to the source of fire.
The law-enforcement authorities of Krasnoyarsk can not deliver the remains to the boys’ parents due to the fact that investigation and identification works are still underway.
