The Japanese authorities requested the United States should clarify WikiLeaks reports about the NSA-led spying on Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and largest corporations of the country.
The general secretary of the cabinet of ministers of Japan said that such facts, if proved real, would be extremely regrettable as the USA and Japan were allies.
According to media reports, on July 31 Wikileaks said that the US National Security Agency was spying on the Prime Minister of Japan, major Japanese corporations, the Central Bank, as well as ministries for finance and economy.
The NSA collects information on many issues, including agriculture, Japanese imports, the nature of trade conflicts, Japan's position in the negotiations within the World Trade Organization, as well as the data on the environmental policy of the country.
