Russia clarifies when crisis with Turkey may end

During a briefing on Thursday, March 31, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the Russian-Turkish conflict was temporary, Interfax reports.

"We actively develop relations in all areas, and, of course, the crisis [...] is temporary in nature," she explained.

She added, though, that she did not mean the incumbent Turkish administration. "If members of the Turkish administration have taken the words about the temporary crisis in the bilateral relations to their own credit, then they are, of course, severely mistaken," said Zakharova.

"What painful and distorted self-esteem one needs to have to assume that Moscow wants to make steps towards the incumbent Turkish administration after the crimes that have been committed against our troops," she added.
