For Show in Moscow McCartney Learnt Russian

Many in Russia are ready to see McCartney and die happy
A show of Sir Paul McCartney took place on Moscow's Red Square Saturday evening. The concert was organized by the Russian bank, Alfa-Bank. The popular singer thoroughly prepared for the concert in Moscow: Paul McCartney and his musicians said some words in Russian almost before every song of the wonderful show.

The scale of this tour "Back in the World" can be compared only with the scale of that one held in the early 1990s, when McCartney’s "Tripping The Live Fantastic" and "Tripping The Live Fantastic - Highlights" first appeared. Rusty Anderson, Brian Ray (guitars), Abe Laboriel Jr. and Paul "Wiх" Wickens (the latter has been working with McCartney for ten years already) are making the tour together with the popular singer. During the tour, Paul McCartney is singing songs of The Beatles that have been never performed at concerts before. The singer says, in decades after the break-up of the popular group these songs sound new for him.

Sir Paul McCartney sang one third of the concert alone. He performed "Here Today" along with the guitar and dedicated the song to John Lennon; the song "Something" was dedicated to George Harrison. The song was sung along with the Hawaiian guitar, one of George's favorite instruments.

The Red Square, which is rather vast, was crowded with people wishing to see the famous one of The Beatles. The sound was perfect even in remote sectors of the square; the show was broadcast on large monitors mounted right in the square. 

A special entry for VIPs was opened on the Vasilyevsky Spusk (the slope near St.Basil's Cathedral); there were Russian actors, musicians, politician, businessmen, the greatest fans of The Beatles standing in a long queue to get to the concert. The security service took every measure to avoid any accidents during the show, even Russian celebrities had to go through metal detector before entering the square for the concert. Pyrotechnic explosions that sounded together with the song "Live and Let Die" were the only burst that sounded during the concert.

Right after the concert, Paul McCartney thanked the audience and the organizers of the show, with the exception of those deputies of the Russian parliament who objected to the concert in Russia. Many of the audience said they were ready to see McCartney and die happy. Paul McCartney says he would like to come to Russia once again.
