Bear attacks man in Krasnoyarsk region

On Wednesday morning a bear attacked Alexander Kigalov, 50, a resident of the Uyar district centre in the Krasnoyarsk territory.

When the man was going to his workplace through a small wood, the bear suddenly attacked him, the local police station said. However, Kigalov kept his head and managed to escape. He ran to the nearby forestry office and asked to call the police. The policemen invited local hunter Ivan Ruzenik with dogs, specially trained to hunt bears. Ruzenik shot the beast, who was in the same place, where he attacked Kigalov. Judging by the yellow colour of its teeth, the bear was grown-up and full. Nobody understands what made him attack the man in summer.

Alexander Kigalov was taken to a local hospital with serious backbone injuries and blood loss. Now his condition is growing better.
