Sergey Lavrov satisfied with UN decision on Chechnya

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is satisfied with the UN Human Rights Commission's recent decision to reject a resolution on Chechnya. Lavrov emphasized that the decision 'clearly shows that the world community understands Russia's efforts to bring law and order to Chechya and wage the war on international terrorism.'

Lavrov said 23 of 53 countries voted against the resolution which is 'the most votes opposed to the resolution in the last two years of voting.' 12 countries voted for the resolution - mainly EU countries, said Lavrov. He also said 'all attempts to depict the situation in Chechnya as a human rights problem have been unrealistic.'
